New Battery for ZUMO ZT

Post by Redlodge52 »

Hello, I am looking for a replacement battery for my XT. Ideally a UK provider. The battery number is 361-00133-00. I cannot find one anywhere? Has anyone else replaced theirs?

Not from the uk (sorry, i'm from austria) - but google showed my at least two resources:
Akkuplus.de https://akkuplus.de/Akkureparatur-Zelle ... olt-Li-Ion changes the battery for € 47,- and akkusmarkt.de https://www.akkusmarkt.de/garmin-akku-3 ... 778920.htm sells one for € 21,-
Bye, Robert :)

Many thanks for your help. Both the links show as having no stock. I do seem to be able to order one from Akkuplus but delivery is 3 months! Plus the battery cost, shipping and tax make it very expensive.

I just wonder why there is this issue with finding a replacement with the XT? I cannot be the only person with this issue. The unit is only 4 years old.

Redlodge52, I can't speak with any actual facts, however.... my gut tells me "planned obsolescence".
If you think about how fast the XT2 came to the market after the XT, leads me to think that Garmin wants the XT gone. To accomplish that they just simply make it cost prohibitive to repair it.
With the XT out of the "way" or at an early EOL, Garmin will have an easier time of getting rid of Basecamp, and making everything web/cloud based.

Maybe I'm totally off base here, but that's just my thoughts.
