I know that in the past Garmin has warned that the 450 and 550 devices (and others?) could behave unpredictably if the routes for them were sent from BaseCamp.
Is this still true? I am running BaseCamp 4.7.2 (don't care about Google Earth) and I wonder if I still have to bring copies of my routes over from BaseCamp into MapSource in order to send them to my Zumo 450 and 550.
If this is still necessary, what is the best procedure for this? Can the routes all be sent to the Zumo together or should they be sent one by one? Must I delete the routes with the same names from the Zumo before sending them again. I ask because when maps are updated I recalculate the routes with the new maps and replace the routes in my GPS devices once the new maps are loaded.

Re: Sending Routes to Zumo 450/550
Many users report using BaseCamp with no issues whereas some do have problems. It seems often to depend on which part of the map is being used. I suspect the only way you'll know is to try.
As for sending routes across, routes with the same name won't be deleted. If I understand correctly what you do then you should delete the routes on your Zumo then send the new ones across, all in one go is best as if you send them separately or in batches earlier ones will be overwritten unless you take further action. Check having sent them that there is a file named temp.gpx in the GPX folder on your device. Then reboot it and check the new data is there. Once you're happy delete temp.gpx

Re: Sending Routes to Zumo 450/550
I posted a new thread in the MapSource sub forum, but the question involves the 450 and 550 Zumos. Is anyone still sending new or revised routes to their 450/550? Are you using MapSource for the Send to Device? I'm having difficulty getting a route into my 450. Seems to require using both MapSource and then BaseCamp. My MapSource post has been up for a couple of days with no response, so I'm hoping if anyone has something to add to this issue, please reply to the MapSource topic. Thanks.

Re: Sending Routes to Zumo 450/550
I created a trip on Basecamp and sent it to my 395 and 396. A buddy brought his xt over and I sent it to his xt via Bluetooth.
Can I do it this way without issue going from my 395/396 to the 550? Or should I hook the 550 to pc and load it that way?
