Zumo XT Compatibility With Apple Stuff
Zumo XT Compatibility With Apple Stuff
Is the Zumo XT fully compatible with my MacBook Pro and iPhone? I heard it is an Android only unit, which would disappoint me terribly. Any advice appreciated. Is it fully compatible with my Mac version of BaseCamp?

Does the XT require Garmin Drive? Is Garmin Drive compatible with a MacBook?

You’ll need some kinda funky Android File Transfer app if you want to read/write to the device (like dropping MP3 files into the memory). I don’t do MP3 on my XT and I do all of the map/firmware updates directly via WiFi. Drive is an iOS app, I don’t think there is a MacOS version of this... and it works so much better than the previous GPS-companion app that I’ve already forgotten the name for.

He works fine on a mac, iPhone, Basecamp, Garmin Express, Explore and Drive.
You need Android File Transfer to see inside the XT.
Also, on a mac, only one programm can be open, Basecamp, or Express or AFT.

Why would I want to see inside the XT? Can files be added and deleted, stuff like that?

You can edit themes so that the track line is a different thickness or color if you can access the files too.

Works perfectly fine with the Drive app on iOS.
As many have already said, you need the Android File Transfer app for MacOS, I couldn't get Basecamp on my MacBookPro to see the XT at all, took ages of faffing about and using the Android FT app... and even now it's very ropey so I use a Windows Laptop instead, works 100%.
