Transfer routes from Basecamp to XT

Yes - via Garmin Explore & the Garmin Drive App.

I've read and re-read all the above and still can't make sense of exactly you do this, is there a more in depth explanation available?

There are multiple ways to achieve this. Let me clarify,

1. Create the route in Basecamp
2. Export the route to a .GPX file (Select the route, or the list, File/Export, Choose GPX format. REMEMBER where you saved it)
3. Transfer the GPX (the one that you remembered!) to your mobile device that has the Garmin Drive app installed. (Could be a tablet, or a Mobile phone)
Choose any of these methods.
3.a. Email yourself, with the gpx as an attachment.
3.b. Upload the file to Google Drive, or Microsoft OneDrive.
3.c. You can even use whatapp. Logon to Whatsapp Web to your computer. And send the file via whatsapp to a group that you are a member of.
3.d There must me even more options.

4. On your mobile device open the file according to method chosen. This is usually called a Download.
5. Garmin Drive will detect it, and give you the oportunity to upload to your XT.

So there are many possibilities...

Where will I find the transferred route on myXT?

The XT should give a message. Something like "... saved in the trip planner", when the transfer has completed. After that: Click Apps, Trip Planner, Saved Trips.

That's what I thought but the first couple of times I tried it there was nothing there.
The routes had not been sent, not sure why.
I've now tried again and everything worked as you suggested, many thanks for all your help.
