This afternoon all was well. First trip with my 395 after many thousands of perfect miles using a 550.
While ironically on US 550 going north to Durango i could not get my 395 to ignore a waypoint that was a scheduled detour on my intended route. So while moving, i took the unit out of the cradle. The screen went dark and it will not power back up. It had been in use for several hours, shoud have plenty of juice but nothing is working.
Anyone experience this? Anyone know a remedy?
Thanks in advance.
Andy

When my 595 goes into sulking mode I disconnect the battery for a few seconds, then it behaves normally.

Sounds like 2 different problems:
1- I found with my new 595 it does not like using "motorcycling" when following a pre-designed route. It wants do do all kinds of stoopit things. Try changing it to "automobile", it behaves very well that way.
2- Does the 395 suffer the same battery plug deficiency as the 590/595? Anyone? Anyone? My new 595 lasted about 6 minutes on battery power on a good day. I thought it was a crap battery and I was going to have to fight with Garmina, send it back, etc. until I was directed here -> http://outsider-adventure.blogspot.com/ ... y-fix.html

Although Outsider has figured out a better solution as the pins touch both sides

I guess they’re all using the same type of battery/connector so will have the same issues.
In a pinch (on the road) I’d lightly push a thin pin into the connector holes (as others have mentioned).
