I have just upgraded my bike from an FJR1300 to a BMW R1200RT
I was contemplating buying the BMW Navigator 6 for the RT but ££££££££££££££
Like 700 of them
I have a Garmin zumo XT thats less than a year old so I couldn't justify changing
So the search started to find a solution to mount the XT in the same position as the BMW one (which is really a Garmin)
I found a couple of videos showing people modifying mounts and adding extenders on the bolts to mount the Zumo XT but then you need a tool to release the Zumo XT and then you had to get power to it
I also found the 3dam adapter that clips in to the BMW mount then you can attach then Zumo XT mount to that thus using the OE release button but then you still need to get power to it!
Then I came across this solution below! It allows the Zumo mount to be bolted to it then attaches to the BMW mount and also takes the power from the BMW mount and feeds the Zumo
Posted from Italy in just over a week and it works a treat
Yes I don't have control over it like I would with a BMW navigator but to be honest I don't need that anyway
You can buy the 3dam adapter from here https://www.adapter3dmotorrad.it/

Re: BMW navigator mount to Zumo XT adaptor
Tucked back in there like that, that's nice! Wish the FJR had a cubbyhole like that. I recently went from an '07 FJR to a '13 and had to move my phone. I had it mounted down low between the bars but the '13 dash changes moved all the indicating lights down low. On the '07 it was fine but on the '13 the phone there blocks those lights.

Re: BMW navigator mount to Zumo XT adapter
I am picking up a BMW RT in a couple of weeks and also have a XT. I have managed to order one of these so hopefully it should do the trick!
Re: BMW navigator mount to Zumo XT adapter
Hello Stu, Wow your post is just in time for me! I too recently sold a 2012 FJR and instead got a 2018 R1200RT LC. And I too am looking to adapt a Garmin Zumo XT to the RT's navigation cradle which my bike came with (though no NAV unit!). In any case, I also found out about this Italian #d MOTORRAD company and indeed bought their "e-Nav XT RT" unit which is same as the one you described. And so I have a question: The unit that was shipped to me is seen in the attached three camera photos with the white sheet of paper underneath the adapter. What's not clear to me is: Why the square piece/plate which the Garmin is to connect to, with four (4) bolts, was not included with the shipment. Did you also not receive that square black plate? Or did they simply neglected to include it with my package.
If it was not part of the package then where would one get such a plate? Does that come with the Garmin when you buy it? (I have not yet bought the Zumo). And one last question: Say I get this square plate, it is not clear to me how you attach it to the adapter itself (the one with the 3D Motorrad logo). After all wouldn't the four (4) holes in the adapter plate be used to attach the adapter to the cradle on the bike. If this is so, then I don't see how the square plate could be bolted to the adapter which it's four (4) holes are already being used...
Unless I am missing the whole idea behind this installation!!
Any clarifications you can provide will certainly be much appreciated!!

Re: BMW navigator mount to Zumo XT adapter
Hi @Navat2021
What you received is exactly right and the other mount comes with the Zumo then you just bolt that on and away you go!
Since buying mine I have discovered an issue with it where it stops charging! I have done some playing and there is a solution which is a cheap fix although not what you expect to do!
Once you get your zumo and get it all mounted and start using it let me know if you have the charging issue and I will explain the fix for you as the problem is not on every adaptor
I have sent all the info to the developer so he can make sure they are all OK from the off

Re: BMW navigator mount to Zumo XT adapter
Stu, Many thanks for your response!!!
Though I will say, 3D Motorrad's description of this product , on their website, is somewhat trickery!
But will let you know when I get the Zumo and again appreciate your help!!

Re: BMW navigator mount to Zumo XT adapter
BTW Stu, I looked up the Zumo XT on the Garmin website and found no info concerning availability of world maps for this device. So I am in the US and assume it comes with maps for North America and perhaps also Mexico. Just wondering if you know if this unit is eligible for any other maps??

I suspect you will get North America mapping where you are but wait for one of the other two to confirm
