Welcome to the forum John.

Thanks for the comment

I do have my own pdf version, but it is not up to date and I am not prepared to let it out. The online version is what I use - I keep it updated when new info becomes available.

I've just acquired a refurbed XT, my first motorcycle sat nav. I registered with this forum to to say thanks to @jfheath for the youtube videos and the incredibly detailed guide at the head of this thread. How one would get this information otherwise, I have no idea! Garmin owe you a debt of gratitude, and so do I.

I'm working on a section 6b app.php/ZXT-P54a
It's to do with using the Traffic informtation.
Just a few pages with screen shots and explanations. Not complet yet, but there's nothing wrong with you seeing it grow !!

I will follow this in the next week with descriptions of how to set it up.

I've also been dabbling with making the pages responsive - ie make them better for viewing on a portrait screen.
So for these pages only - the pictures are side by side with the text, but on a tall narrow screen, the pictures drop underneath the text.
It's not pretty, its not polished. Its sort of clunky but it works (sort of).

New Section 20 Posted. Videos.

I've been letting this new section to the 'Everything you need to know' go unattended for far too long. Today I plucked up some enthusiasm to get it posted. Section 20 - here

It is a series of videos showing how the Zumo behaves when various route points are missed in different circumstances.

Automatic Recalc: On/Off
Behaviour of types of Point : Via/Shaping
Routes:Imported/Saved
Skipped a point sometime ?: Yes/No
Disappearing route points: Via / Shaping

These are videos that I have created using specially constructed routes, filmed with a camera and the Zumo mounted on a purpose built block of mahgonay - facing away from me on the passenger seat of the car.

The last one I think is particuarly informative - One complete test run of about 5 miles 15 minutes onto which I have added illustrations and edited in some commentary. That page is here.
