Zumo 396 favourites

I managed to upload my favourites from BaseCamp to the device.

However they now all have a pretty heart shape on the GPS map.

Is there any way to change the heart to the BaseCamp icons? Also I have a few that have a custom icon. Or even the title of the favourite would be nice.

Afraid not, though you can edit the icon on your device but the options aren't great.

Garmin took a step backwards with the 396. My 665 can edit any Favorite on the device to any of the standard symbols, or the gpx file of Favorites that I send from either BC or MS can have custom symbols that appear on the map as such.

Thanks. I suspected as much, but hoped I was wrong.

I would have thought that certain basic things would be available. Such as:

• Selecting favourite icons (as well as custom icons)

• Sorting of music

• Etc

Out of curiosity does the 595 have any of these things?

One thing I do like is the inclusion of a weather cap on the mount rather than something that can get lost. (A friend had the 660 and lost his, while I managed to keep mine.)

Sorry I was not clear. The weather cap / dust cap etc is attached to the mount on the 396. On the 660 / Nav IV it is separate, and therefore easy to lose.

In terms of weather proofing - it seemed to keep the contacts on my Nav IV dry, and the bike was an outside beast. Rarely did she come in to play.
