I'm pretty sure on my 590 I had the option of arrival time (destination)
however I don't seem to be able to find it on the XT
Any help please

IIRC on mine it appears automatically on the bottom right of the screen. Are you sure it's not there?!

is it there all the time or just when your actually navigating/

There is option to show many different 'icons' in the lower right corner. Default view is for the direction(N,S,E,W).
If you touch the white(or black depending on day or night) box it will give you a selection list of other options that you choose from.(you can only select one at a time).
There are many options to pick from, some are only available while navigating a route, others can be available all the time.

It's on the map page, which only shows a destination when you're navigating, IYSWIM.

As others have said you can only select it whilst navigating a route.
