Update times

Post by kernowing »

Can anyone tell me why? Just plugged in the 660 to do an update--Express says 3hrs 10mins to do it. Started the update for device+PC and it's now telling me 6hrs 47mins :?
Cheers, Pete.

Broadband speed is 51.9 Mbps which I thought was quite reasonable.
Express says it's copying files at 217 kb/s and now has 5hrs 3mins to go!
Not too worried--just like to know about these things. :)

Mine generally complete in around 30 to 45 minutes so guess you have a slow connection or your ISP throttles it.

It could be your ISP or your PC. Is it connecting wirelessly? If so, can you connect using a wired connection?

ISP being Internet Service Provider--so I'm guessing I cannot do anything about that?
I've plugged in the Ethernet cable and the rate has crept up by 1.2Kb/s
Thanks guys, it'll take as long as it takes. :)

What you're seeing is not at all unusual for me either, about 6 hrs. In the past I would alter my computer power settings to never sleep when plugged in and update. But now, at the suggestion of another, I still do the computer power thing but I update only one thing at a time. Updating both the device and the computer together takes about 6 hrs but updating each individually takes about 3 hrs combined.
