Random XT dropouts from Schuberth SC2 (sena) headset

Post by Basher(Peter) »

I read this thread https://www.zumouserforums.co.uk/viewtopic.php?t=2372 and tried/checked the suggestions:-) still no joy... The set up below connects reliably and works for hours with no dropouts. Bike/phone/helmet connection is faultless. Phone never disconnects from the XT first. The XT/helmet connection drops occasionally, when it drops out once, it becomes more regular until I leave the bike for a while...

For calls
1) 2024 Ducati Multistrada to Samsung S25+ (all access allowed)
2) 2024 Ducati Multistrada to Schuberth C5 helmet integrated SC2 headset (aka Sena) on the "phone" channel

For navigation
1) Zumo XT (powered from bike) to Samsung S25+ (no access to contacts)
2) Zumo XT to Schuberth C5 helmet integrated SC2 on the "GPS" channel

All Bike, XT, headset and phone software/firmware is up to date and I ride with the phone in my jacket chest pocket.

Anyone else having similar problems with their XT/XT2 and Schubert SC2 please? I guess it could be "just one of those things" :-) but I'm interested in trying to fix it... Thanks, Peter

A guess from way out in the cheap seats: I know that the XT likes to be the hub, so your multiple Bluetooth connections may be the culprit. In other words, the usual successful pairing setup is phone to XT, XT to Sena. This is my setup. If you add phone to Sena, this setup will often fail. Where I'm less sure is because your bike is also a player in this, so if there's a way to make the XT the hub it might solve your problem.

See a very similar thread here where BT interference was demonstrated to be the issue.

Have owned Zumo 550, 660 == Now have Zumo XT2, XT, 595, 590, Headache
Use Basecamp (mainly), MyRouteApp (sometimes), Competent with Tread for XT2, Can use Explore for XT - but it offers nothing that I want !
