Route line conceals street names/hwy numbers
I have created some routes that are mostly on State and Interstate highways except for on each end. I dawned on me the I won't need the GPS for the first several hundred miles except for two transitions from Interstate to State highways. I figured I could remember two highway numbers so I went into Basecamp to make note of them, only to find out that the route line prevented me from seeing the numbers. I thought changing the route line color to Transparent would solve the problem but Garmin's "Transparent" is actually white with a fine black line in the center. I ended up activating the waypoint tool and hovering over the roads in question. What other workarounds come to mind for this problem?

It’s been doing this for years. It’s sooooooo stupid.
I complained to them (Garmin) a VERY long time ago, about this.
I sometimes delete the route momentarily, look at the road name or number and hit undo to get my route back.

On my device, I open the route & pick Map. I zoom in to see what I want and note it in BaseCamp. Active and previewed routes on the XT do not obscure the road names & numbers.

Another way is to have an empty list handy in the same folder in the left hand pane. Click on that to see the map and then click back on the one you are working on.
But 'undo' works well. I use that a lot for all sorts of 'see what happens' experiments.

Use Basecamp (mainly), MyRouteApp (sometimes), Competent with Tread for XT2, Can use Explore for XT - but it offers nothing that I want !
