82 Order Routes Chronologically

Use the Schedule
If you want your list of Trip to appear in some sort of logical order on the XT, then make use of the schedule facility in Basecamp.
Double click one of the points (usually the start) in the list of route points, and allocate a date and optionally a time.
As soon as you allocate date and time to one point, all of the times will be calculated for other points.
With a date entered for the first point of each route, the Zumo will list the available routes in chronological order. There is nothing in the list to show the date, so adding a date code to the start of the name will help you to recognise the Trip for today.
Unlike the Zumo 595 which ordered the future Trips with the ones for today at the top and any past Trips out of way at the bottom, the XT uses pure date to sort the list - so Trips set for before the current date will be at the top.
Delete them - the old ones. They can always be re-imported. But see the section on Transferring and Importing Routes - before you delete a route/Trip.
How many Routes or Trips can I store ?
There is a limit to the number of Trips/routes that you can have in the Zumo’s memory, but I am not sure what this limit is. I have seen 100 quoted, and indeed, 100 routes can be transferred to the Zumo XT.
But it seems to be a bit more complicated than that. I transferred 196 Trips from Basecamp in one go. There were no complaints. And then I imported all of them, without issue. But when I came to load one using the Trip Planner App, only 100 were visible. I loaded a couple to check them out. And then I deleted all 100 in the list. The other 96 then became available.
It would seem from that little exercise that the Zumo will transfer a lot more than 100. It will also import a lot more than 100. But it can only display 100, even if there are more available. It begs the question how you can get hold of them ! But it was always the case that you could store many more Trips than you could have immediately available in the Trip Planner App. The trick was to import what you needed, and then delete it when done. The original transferred version would always be available.
But with the XT, the change in behaviour is that transferring a new set of Trips actually over-writes any Trips that were transferred during a different USB session. To keep all of your Trips available for import, transfer all of them in one USB session. If you forget to transfer one, and have broken the USB connection in the meantime, then transfer them all again.
The change makes sense to me - sort of - Previously there was no way of deleting previously transferred routes. The temp.gpx file must have grown larger and larger, and I guess that it created problems. Those in the know would just delete it, but this new behaviour takes care of that particular problem.
Or transfer to SD card instead, which eliminates the problem - although there are other issues to consider with your routes and Waypoints stored on the SD card.
