Re: XT and Basecamp on Mac book pro.
Paulo464, Does this post on the Garmin forum help any? It sounds similar to what you describe. https://forums.garmin.com/apps-software/mac-windows-software/f/basecamp-mac/257782/garmin-base-camp-will-not-recognize-a-computer-connected-zumo-xt-even-though-garmin-express-does-recognize-the-zumo-xt ...

Re: The Usual MAC / Gamin Express Connection Issue
David,
Have you tried a different USB cable? If your cable is one of those “charging only” (no data) cables, or if your cable is bad you might have similar connectivity issues.
Good luck!

Re: City searching
MrOrtford, In Basecamp if you press Command-F you can use the search field to type the name of a city and state, like Webber, KS. After typing the city and state separated by a comma, hit Return. In the right-hand sidebar, in the section "All points of interest," the town of Webber should show up as ...

Re: Move from PC to Mac
maddscot, I moved from BaseCamp on a Windows desktop computer to BaseCamp on a MacBook years ago. The hardest thing for me was getting used to manipulating the route using the TrackPad instead of a mouse. I ended up buying a bluetooth mouse to help bridge the gap. If I recall correctly, I also ...

I believe you’ll want to use the “Open Anyway” button in Security and Privacy Settings. See https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT202491
Good luck!

Re: Nav 6 car mount
There is:
https://www.bobsbmw.com/store/product/c ... ator-v--vi
It has a built-in speaker.
The few times I have needed a car mount for my Nav6, I have used the one that came with my Zumo 660. No speaker, but the price was right since I already owned it.

Re: Struggling to find answers. Slow Communication and Device Full.
BradB, Is BaseCamp reading the current map off of your Navigator when you connect it via USB? This can take some time (although not an hour). I use an option in Garmin Express to install the current map on both the Navigator and my Mac. I believe this will eliminate (or at least speed up) the need ...

Re: Can I stop my nav from recalculating my designed route?
BradB, If the problem is that you get off the route a bit and the GPS is suddenly recalculating your route, you should be able to fix that in Settings on your GPS. I believe there is a setting on the Nav5 called "off route recalculation." If you set this to Off the GPS will never recalculate when ...

Jon, I believe 4.8.3 and later are 64-bit although I’m not on Catalina yet.
