Re: Is there a magic way of connecting the XT to my laptop?
hi owl* I do agree that Garmin products, do not play well with MAC OS,I have in the past had all the problems you have written about, but fingers crossed, at the moment mine are playing well together. every now and again I still have to close the app a couple of times in order for the XT to be ...

Re: What a load of glitchy junk
hi FBF this forum is an excellent place to find information jfheath has written a book so to speak on all things XT. I had a nightmare when I first bought an XT and thought the same as you, but stick with it and you can make it work. the first thing to do is delete the drive app from your phone ...

Re: Updating maps and software
I do agree, on Mac there is a small black triangle in the top menu bar, if you close GE this will still be present, it has to be clicked and disabled from there, but I am Sure you are aware of this, however others may not be.Even so far as to disable GE from running in the background.

Re: Updating maps and software
hi I am also the same as jfheath and never use wifi for a number of reasons. personally I always use a cable and Garmin express, and just in case if you use a Mac, make sure that basecamp is completely closed down other wise express will not load, same the other way round. Not sure if it's same for ...

Re: how to carry out factory reset Zumo XT
hi jfheath I wonder if once Drive has been asked to set up Explore, every time you disable it on the XT, Drive immediately re-enables it. the screen changes and a visible 'Maybe Later' button becomes available. I do think this is the indeed the case, since I reinstalled drive (on iPad) and clicked ...

Re: how to carry out factory reset Zumo XT
just another quick update, I have now sent numerous route/trips/tracks to my XT using my iPad connected via bluetooth and the drive app, iPad is connected to wifi but the XT is not. thankfully explore has not activated. so obviously it's not a fluke, the actions I took have clearly resolved the ...

Re: how to carry out factory reset Zumo XT
Thanks for posting the result. What is exactly the English translation for 'Misschien later'? Is it really: 'Maybe later' or 'Not now' ? I think you need to do both, reset the XT, and reinstall the Garmin Drive App. Come to think of it, if you happen to have more devices where the Garmin Drive App ...

Re: how to carry out factory reset Zumo XT

Re: how to carry out factory reset Zumo XT
I think wifi is only used for map and firmware updates. Everything else seems to rely on the Bluetooth connection, transferring data through the phone. So temporarily turning off Bluetooth on the XT or your phone will prevent any possibility of Explore re-establishing itself before you finish ...
