Re: Opening a route takes a very long time
proofresistant I think it is important in these discussions to separate, as you have done here, what the XT2 is doing and what Tread is doing. Conclusion Tread App changes sharpening points Tread App moves sharpening points Yes I have had the same experience. See https://www.zumouserforums.co.uk/vi...

Re: Poll : Curious about the Zumo XT2 ? Read on....
From my [limited] experience it appears that: 1. perfectly valid routes from imported gpx files can change dramatically when Tread syncs with the Explore database. No edit of the route is involved. It seems that the original route's shaping points are ignored when the sync and related route recalcul...

@jfheath Well that's interesting. Inconsistent results adds to the puzzle. Did you have Tread connected to the Explore database or was this recent test syncing to Tread only?

Re: Is this RUT?
I have not taken the time to narrow down the sd card issues, but here are a couple of example observations. 1. After [proper I believe] sd card operations, I have had the zumo XT2 go into a continuous reboot on power up and solved it by removing the sd card. This is not a frequent occurrence, but it...

Re: Is this RUT?
m326 Yes, the XT2 does seem to have issues with the sd card at times. My guess is that the software is sometimes not properly closing the card, but that is only a guess. I have been removing and inserting the card only with the XT2 turned off. It seems to help. I write gpx files to the card with it...

Re: Is this RUT?
m326 There are multiple ways to get routes, tracks, etc from Basecamp to the XT2. In general, they all involve writing a gpx file with Basecamp and then importing it to the XT2. On the XT2 side, you can write either to internal storage, or to the sd card, assuming you have one installed. I prefer t...

Re: Tread Changes Exisiting Routes - Shaping Point Issues
Thank you FrankB . Your program works well to clear the subclass and prevent the XT2 from renaming those shaping points. It certainly helps. Unfortunately, the subclass fix does not prevent the Tread / Explore sync from ignoring shaping points and changing the route. I have an ongoing dialog with Ga...

Re: Tread Changes Exisiting Routes - Shaping Point Issues
SEllis Sorry to tell you this but as far as I know, there is no easy way to undo the Tread - Explore sync connection once it has been enabled. You apparently need to uninstall Tread from the phone, reset to XT2, then reinstall Tread and not allow it to sync. See this thread https://www.zumouserforu...

Re: Zumo XT Crashes and Restarts Continuously
Not sure if this will help but I once had a similar experience with an XT2. After trying a few things, I removed the sd card and left it plugged into a USB charger for a while. Eventually it settled down and I have not seen the issue since. A very low battery maybe?
