Re: Tread Changes Exisiting Routes - Shaping Point Issues
@FrankB also has something in the pipeline - TripManager - already available for the XT1. It isn't quite working with the XT2, but I'm helping to get that sorted out. We had a breakthrough last week - which still requires a lot of testing. Well that sounds promising. Thank you FrankB and jfheath

Re: Tread Changes Exisiting Routes - Shaping Point Issues
JS_racer By explorer, I assume you mean the Garmin Explore web pages and the Explore data base (sorry, just being clear since Garmin uses the same names for multiple things). That Explore simply does not support shaping points at all. The issue of routes being changed seems to arise when the tread ...

Re: Tread is a mess. Is there a web application?
Has anyone solved this problem? Not yet. There has been some indication from Garmin that they will have a fix for the route change issues sometime in 2025. I'm not aware of any solution to Tread only running on small screen devices. If you remove Tread entirely, then routes imported to the XT2 from ...

Re: DONT UPDATE GARMIN EXPRESS
It would be even better if Garmin didn't force us to jump through these ridiculous work arounds in order to make their products useful!

Re: DONT UPDATE GARMIN EXPRESS
Here is what Garmin Support has to say about it. Steve: The latest version of Garmin Express (7.24) seems to have broken the ability to download maps to the computer. Christopher: Thank you for contacting Garmin Chat Support. I will be with you shortly. What model device are you using and what ...

Re: Upgrade from XT to XT2
JS_racer I'll try to provide a quick answer here. You can find a lot more detail throughout this forum. First, some clarification. Unfortunately Garmin uses "tread" and "explore" to refer to multiple things. The XT2 can be paired with the Tread App on a phone or tablet. That Tread App can sync ...

I have found that saving ...

Re: XT2 made me laugh
This was followed by about 10 minutes of instructions which I realised were the instructions that it should have given while it was being quiet. One after the other. No pauses. Eventually it caught up with the last turn that I made, after which all was well again. I did have this happen to me, only ...

Re: Tread Changes Exisiting Routes - Shaping Point Issues
I recently requested an update on my case and received a reply today. Garmin support said "...engineers reported back that they expect something later this year. I don't have a timeline, but right now, their target is May/June. Things change frequently, so that date may be moved between now and then ...

Re: Alternative route through a busy town
Mikey In case you missed Oop North John's mention of it, you can define an avoidance area in Basecamp. Avoidance.jpg As for exploring what happens when you go off route, you might want to be aware of something this forum calls RUT, If you allow the XT to recalculate your route, it may keep telling ...
