I have dug out an old Zumo 550 and just tried an update but it seems Garmin has stopped supporting the unit.
Anyone have any info?

Re: Supported?
Also, not sure but could the "lifetime" updates have paused because of lack of use.
I havd a 550, I have not updated the maps this year because when I did the street names were no longer fully shown. Lower case letters were used as is common in English were as before the street names were all Caps.
Otherwise the map updates work.

Hi guys,
I have had my 550 for many years but not used for about 4 years. I got onto the Garmin site to update my old ANZ NT2012 maps and this was the greeting I got on the web site.
In accordance with the Lifetime Maps and Maps Terms and Conditions, map updates and/or Downloadable Content (DLC) are no longer available to download or purchase and cannot be activated and/or associated with the Garmin devices listed in Map Updates and Downloadable Content No Longer Available to Download or Purchase.
This is due to these devices not having sufficient memory capacity and other required technical capabilities to utilize current map data.
Surely not! Any advise?

Use alternative maps for your area, for example https://alternativaslibres.org/en/index.php

Links to more OSM maps here: https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/OSM ... n/Download
Color schemes and detail levels vary by source, so you might want to try a few different ones.
Of the OSM maps I've experimented with, the ones from OpenMapchest.org seem to suit me best:https://www.openmapchest.org/maps/austr ... d-oceania/

Hi Guys,
I downloaded a version of latest 2023 Australian and NZ maps to a SD card. Can someone please remind me how to send maps from SD in unit to Mapsource, as it only shows the old version in the utilities drop down. TIA
