Map selection (SOLVED)

I'm on a roll I've now even put the map on my old Nuvi 42 which would have been better to use for off road cycling as it wouldn't matter if it got damaged but alas it doesn't accept routes from Basecamp.Would waypoints work instead?

Unfortunately the 42 doesn't do routes. You can though send waypoints and navigate to them. You may also, some older devices allowed it, be able to create a route on the device by doing a where to then selecting a waypoint then Go so the 42 is navigating. Now do another where to, select waypoint then go. You may get offered a choice of adding that to the active route. Some devices allowed that but I never had a 42. Note I've used the term waypoint but on the device they will appear either in Favourites or Saved Places.
