Dim screen
Dim screen
The screen of my Zumo 595 seems dim compared to my Zumo 350 and Nuvi 2959. Is it replacable by a user familiar with digital electronics?

Re: Dim screen
Google it, and check youtube. That's where I learned just how simple it is to replace a nuvi 780 screen and digitizer. I got a pair of each new plus a little tool kit to do it from China for $16. This extended the life of my nuvi by several yrs.

Re: Dim screen
Before you start dismantling your screen, try changing the map Theme. You can switch themes, which will change map colors and could make the map brighter and easier to read.

This link should - hopefully - take you to the last entry of a post I had, where I uploaded a map theme, Auto Club 04. Give it a try, you can always return to the theme you have now if you don't like it. I went through about 2 or 3 edits of the theme, so if you grab the file, make sure you take the last one.

Re: Dim screen
I've changed the map themes, which helps, and turning off the 3D map layers can also assist in making things more visible. And, zooming out past 3 miles dramatically increases the background grey darkness, and that doesn't seem to be adjustable in the themes.
