Got a brand new xt2 on newest firmware. Restarts every 10-15 minutes.

It hapens EVERY TIME I have 2 gpx with same name, it kills the brain of the device itnseems

Re: XT2 turns off and restarts
Ok. I have to check that. In the meantime i sat up the unit with an iPhone. No issues so far. So seems to be an Android app issue
Re: XT2 turns off and restarts
You need to check also if you have anything under uncategorized in app. But its not app issue, its garmin explore sync issue. Happens to me on iphone or android but only if i have 2 gpx with same name anywhere

Re: XT2 turns off and restarts
Experienced this issue on numerous occasions with my new XT2.
I deleted all old routes from the device except a few for my tour.
No rebooting, but it’s early days.
I am wondering whether it’s a memory issue?
As far as I know, there is no way to see how full the memory is on the device.
Just a bit concerned to know how much memory the maps take up.
Watch this space.

Good afternoon, after updating to version 4.7, the zumo started to turn itself off. restarts all the time. Has it ever happened to anyone?

Re: XT2 turns off and restarts
Welcome to the forum.
That behaviour is typical of a battery without enough charge. The XT2 is supplied with a dead battery, and it doesn't come with a charger - only a cable. The standard 2.1A chargers are barely adequate to provide a good charge. I think that they need about 2.4A - or a good run on the motorcycle in the mototcyle mount.
Plug the USB cable into your charger. Leave it charging for a full day. 24 hours. Do not touch it - unless the screen comes on. If it does, turn it off.
The battery is pretty good and will last a good length of time. However even turned on and plugged in to a 2.1A USB socket, it slowly discharges - but much more slowly than just running it on the battery.
An english translation would be appreciated please - We go out of our way to help people if we can, but it is nice if the person asking the question adds an English translation.

Have owned Zumo 550, 660 == Now have Zumo XT2, XT, 595, 590, Headache
Use Basecamp (mainly), MyRouteApp (sometimes), Competent with Tread for XT2, Can use Explore for XT - but it offers nothing that I want !

Re: XT2 turns off and restarts
ok, I'll try that suggestion. Despite that I always have Zumo on the motorcycle stand and to this day that situation has never happened to me. It only started happening after update for last version. he has the information that has battery on the maximum. even being connected to the socket charger he turns off on his own.
will give feedback

Re: XT2 turns off and restarts
I have v4.70 - no problems.
Clean the screen thoroughly. Check the battery is Ok.
I wonder if the software would reinstall ?
If you think that the software 4.70 is the culprit, you can go back to the previous version (4.50)
Make sure that you have plenty of power in the battery. I do not know what will happen if the battery runs out part way through this process.
You might want to talk to Garmin Tech Support first. I am going to check out theat these instructions work before I post in on the forum.
But you do this at your own risk.
===============
At any time if you want to abort, just leave it doing nothing for 30 seconds.
A very similar operation is decribed here for the Zumo XT1. The process is the same but the menus that pop up are different.
https://www.zumouserforums.co.uk/app.php/ZXT-P85
This will give you an idea of what the screens look like when you do this.
I have just checked this procedure with my Zumo XT2 and it has reloaded version 4.50. See if the problem remains.
Then you can update the software again using Express. Maybe the last instalation failed for some reason.
Note that all settings and all data are lost in this process.
Ok - I'm going to reinstall 4.70 now. I'll check that works before I post this message. Yes it does.

===============
========================Turn the Zumo XT2 off completely. Hold in the power button and wait for the message. Yes, turn it off.
Hold in the power button on the back and wait for the Garmin Screen logo (this may take a couple of seconds, it may take up to 30 seconds)
When the express screen appears immediately release the power and immediately press it again (click click).
So it is hold and wait -> Garmin Screen -> Release and Press - if you don't do it in time, the XT2 will start up normally. Try again.
That gives you a tiny menu. Click the power button to cycle round the 4 options
You want option 3 - so when you reach that, hold the power button in for about 3 seconds til the screen changes.
Click again - Option 3 again. Roll back software. Hold Power button in. Until the screen changes - it says that it is rolling back the software.
Then it restarts.
At any time if you want to abort, just leave it doing nothing for 30 seconds.
