We all seem yo be having the same problem with the tread app. I can sometimes do 2 or 3 searches fine & then it stops working. You shouldn't need to be connected to the XT2, that's the whole idea. Please email Garmin through the help section in the app, they will respond to you. The more of us complain, the quicker it'll get sorted.jfheath wrote: ↑Tue Oct 29, 2024 11:18 pm Android AND Ipad
Mag glass. Type in search word - I used streets, towns, well known locations
Often the location is found in the pop up list.
When selected, the place is never found.
Does Tread have to be connected to the XT2 when you search ? Just a question, I don't need to know.
Its the first time I have tried to find anything.

Enter search name , often a location is found in pop up list
Select that location eg London Heathrow and NO RESULTS are found
iPhone IOS 17 and also IOS18.1
Furthermore also on a different iPhone
Also when Tread deleted and reinstalled ( As suggested by Garmin Support )
Matter still not resolved …..

FJI
Tread app ( connected to XT2) select three bars top left
Settings
About
App version ( tap app version ten times ) and up comes an option
which creates a zip file and a report which gets emailed to Garmin Support

Re: Tread: no results when searching
I've not been involved in this issue. I'd noticed, but had other evidence to put together. It bothered me that the data submitted as evidence gets logged with your email address, rather than the case number. So the thought that two issues might be confused was something I want to avoid.
But a thought occurred to me. Rather than complying with requests to show that something isn't working - could THEY post videos to show how it should work. That would be really helpful.
I find the current batch of how-to videos (and yes, I have watched all of them) answer questions that I have never felt the need to ask, and avoid anything that I would find useful.

Have owned Zumo 550, 660 == Now have Zumo XT2, XT, 595, 590, Headache
Use Basecamp (mainly), MyRouteApp (sometimes), Competent with Tread for XT2, Can use Explore for XT - but it offers nothing that I want !
Links: Zumo 590/5 & BC . . . Zumo XT & BC

Re: Tread: no results when searching
Just tried the search, it found a location - Corgarff Castle on the first go, tried a few other places, one of which it placed in the middle of the North Sea (incorrectly) and then stopped showing places it shows in the suggestions. Tread now can't find Corgarff Castle
Not going to enter into another discussion with Garmin while I have the shaping points being moved when the XT2 syncs with Tread, but I do wonder whether they'll start off with "Basecamp isn't supported ......." when I do report it

Re: Tread: no results when searching
Edit:
just a comment on the last sentence of Oop North John, even if this is not the actual topic here
I tried to find out what is officially available regarding GPX support in the Zumo XT2 performance description from Garmin. The result of my research is quite poor.
I only found the following in the product description on the Garmin Zumo XT2 website: “SHARE YOUR FAVORITE ROUTES
Easily send GPX files from your phone or third-party sources to your zūmo XT2 navigator. Share GPX files with fellow riders by using the Tread app.”
What would be interesting now, a reliable source with statements about which requirements or which range of functions (such as tracks, routes with VIA or sharpening points, number of points, sizing, ...) must be or are fulfilled for GPX routes from third-party sources.
PS
I hope that Garmin does not think that simply sending files does not mean that they will work well

Very important, that Garmin BaseCamp is not compatible with the Zumo XT2 is not the same as the Zumo XT2 not being compatible with BasCamp (see: “Easily send GPX files from your phone or third-party sources to your zūmo XT2”).Oop North John wrote: ↑Wed Oct 30, 2024 12:23 pm ... , but I do wonder whether they'll start off with "Basecamp isn't supported ......." when I do report it

Re: Tread: no results when searching
Update ;
Called Garmin today ( very long phonecall with lots of ‘on hold music’
Garmin said that they did not receive my zip file ( that Tread creates ), despite me receiving emails (note to my email address) from Garmin stating that they don’t know which case number to attach the zip file .
So sent yet again .
Note ; Garmin tried their Tread app on a Samsung phone and worked OK.
I am on IOS 18.1 now and still no results when searching London Heathrow and selecting London Heathrow .
Sorry for labouring this , but a non working Tread app destroys the full usability of the XT2

Re: Tread: no results when searching
I agree, without tread working correctly I feel a bit short changed. I've been in touch with Garmin & to be honest they've been pretty good at replying. Latest is they want me to video the process when it comes back with no results & more info on the devices I'm using. From what I can deduce tho' it's not device or app related as you are using an apple device & I use both an Android phone (Pixel 8) & an Android tablet (Lenovo pad 11). In the meantime I'm using MRA which to be honest I quite like, it's just a bit of a pain to transfer the files.
