The Windows version of Express does delete the old NT map version from internal memory whenever a newer map is installed. I did have a temporary issue with my old 590 and once found the older version was not deleted.

You can manually delete the maps by activating access to the .System folder, where the maps are stored in \zūmo XT\Internal Storage\.System\Map. The file names are not descriptive (D#######A.img), so use Basecamp to identify the correct file names to delete:

Too bad they can't be deleted that easy on a Mac... Thanks, appreciate the help. Ray

You're absolutely right about the newest Mac Express version being 7.25.0 which was released on March 25, 2025. I tried this update from Garmins site a few minutes ago and it downloaded w/o any problems. I then plugged in the XT & ran Express but, it still shows as version 6.60. I don't have BC open.

I am trying to understand what the problem is. In the first post, the screenshot show the map list with the XT connected. The second post contains a screenshot showing the map list with the XT disconnected. Both screenshots show that maps CN NA NT 2024.1,2025.1, and 2026.1 are installed on the PC. The only anomaly I see is the 2026.1 is listed as "(Installed)" three times. On my windows PC it is also listed three time but only one is tagged with "(Installed)", the other two are tagged with "(zūmo XT)". This makes me think that this is a mislabeling issue in Basecamp for MAC. With the exception of that labeling, the map list looks normal both when the device is attached and not attached. Uninstalling the old maps would clean it up but they don't affect functionality.

I agree with your analogy completely... It make sense & I hope you're right. As for Express not updating properly is very puzzeling. I physically deleted Express and reinstalled it which stated the update as being 7.25.0 but, once opened it shows 6.60. Strange to say the least. I even restarted my Mac which didn't help. Thanks, appreciate it. Ray

Check in Applications to see if there are two copies of Express. It is possible that the icon in your dock is launching the old one.

The "6.60" is the software version installed on the XT. It has nothing to do with maps or Garmin Express. Unfortunately, your Garmin Express doesn't make that clear. Mine does. Don't know whether that is because I'm still on 7.24 or because mine is Windows.

6.60 is the Software Version of the XT, not the Express version.
See Settings→ Device→ About

The Windows Express version number is found by clicking the Gear icon in Express and then clicking About.

I don't know how the Mac version is found, Macs are weird. ;)

Thanks Dan, I did delete the previous one completely in Applications as well as the Alias I plased on my desktop. As for the new download, I tried it directly from Applications as well as from a new desktop alias, both open w/o issue but, wrong version. I've also restarted my MacBook a couple three times with the same results. Thanks again. Ray
