Easy solution to install City Navigator maps on PC/Mac
Re: Easy solution to install City Navigator maps on PC/Mac
I upgraded my Garmin express and had no problem updating my maps for Basecamp. I check the map information and Basecamp reports it as unlocked at least the Mac version in the US seems to be doing what it should.

Temporary solution for this - from the folder .System/Maps on the Zumo XT copy the file 'D6210130A.gma' to 'c:\Users\(username)\AppData\Roaming\Garmin\Maps\ this should unlock the map in BaseCamp...
Alternatively you could copy the .gma to 'c:\ProgramData\Garmin\Maps\', this also should work....

I don't have a D6210130A.gma file in .System/Maps on my Zumo XT. There are 7 other .gma files though. Is this file map specific? If so, a way to identify the file to unlock City Navigator North America NT 2022.1 and its Foursquare and Parkopedia counterparts would be appreciated.

Contact Garmin support, like I have & insist they sort the problem out. We should not be doing their job for them.

Yes, they are map-specific - try to identify it by the date of the file, this should be the safest variant! I didn't know, if the same counts for the us version 2022.10 of CN, but for the european CN it is D6210180A.gma...Peobody wrote: ↑Thu Jun 03, 2021 8:05 pm I don't have a D6210130A.gma file in .System/Maps on my Zumo XT. You're sure? As far as i know, Garmin Express 7.6.0.0. has caused all this troubles (not unlocking maps, devices not found and so on)!?
My solution for the problems was to uninstall GE 7.6.0.0. (do NOT tick 'delete all files belonging to Garmin Express'!!), install 'old' Garmin Express 7.5.0.0., install CN 2022.10 for BaseCamp with 'fake-Zumo-XT' and install CN 2022.10 on the unit with real Zumo XT - no problems at all!

Re: Easy solution to install City Navigator maps on PC/Mac
Garmin have deleted GE 7.6 & reverted to 7.5 as the new software did not work & was loading locked maps to Basecamp.
I currently have a case open with Garmin support to hopefully get this resolved.
It does however, seem to be unique to the Zumo XT.
