I use it sometimes, but my main route planning tool is MyRouteApp - and I mainly plan routes on the bigger screen of my laptop.

But - I do have tread running on both my phone and my iPad and it is fairly functional, but not amazing.

I agree that BT sharing is the easiest (apart from when it doesn't work properly - but that's another story) and should be implemented in the XT2.

Let us know how you get on with a call to Garmin Sweden support. I will do the same with Garmin UK.

Agreed - removal of Bluetooth sharing is crazy. I have many friends with XTs that I used to share routes with via Bluetooth. It's a very poor decision on Garmin's part, especially as the Bluetooth hardware is inside the XT2. Presumably it's just "switched off" in software only. I have used Tread to ...

Conclusion is that 1.2 exported via connector (cable) in MRA works like it should. - Either a correct Route, with VIA points and correct estimates, and - The correct Track, which I could convert in a correct Route, but I won't have the VIA points. Export in MRA as GPX 1.2 with the "connector". Thus, also with a cable connected to you XT-2 . (Don't use the Tread app) That will give you a Route AND a Track on the XT-2, Route will be inclusive of your Via points. Use the Route to navigate , and the Via points wil be included together with ...

You might try exporting GPX 1.1 instead of 1.2. I don't use MyRouteApp but I have heard of issues with shaping points when exporting to the 1.2 format. It could be that shaping points are exported as route point extensions when 1.2 is selected but as shaping points when 1.1 is selected. Bottom line ...

I am just back from a week in the Black Forest, taking a group of 12 bikes on some of my favourite roads. It was the first trip using the XT2. I have done the same trip for the last 3 years using a regular Garmin XT, and the behavior of the 2 devices is very different, so I would value your opinions ...
