Me Again sorry
does the BMW Nav VI use Mapsource
I'm doing some route and one of the group has one so I need to know if I need to do them in Basecamp also.

Don't need either, just send him a .gpx file to copy to the GPX folder of his Nav VI

Sorry for laughing but he does well to turn it on I had to do his updates and install the routes for him on his old 590
He has no chance with the new BMW unit

OK, well in that case you can do it for him? The bottom line is that MapSource will only work with devices in mass storage mode and his Nav VI by default will be in mtp mode. There are ways to change it but if you have both MapSource and BaseCamp just copy and paste the route from MS into BC then send it to his device.

Great thanks for that just didn't want to end up as his place with the routes on the wrong map :D

Just a thought as I'm a bit of a newbie to basecamp :oops: does it work ok with 590 and 595 units
if so I could just use basecamp for all units

Yes, BaseCamp works with pretty much every Garmin device.
